La Equidad and Deportivo Pasto played out a 1-1 draw in the seventh round of Colombia's Primera A Clausura tournament on Friday evening. The result leaves both sides where they stood before, with the visitors still three places higher in the table despite the stalemate.
Deportivo Pasto took the lead early, J. Perlaza finding the net in the ninth minute. La Equidad responded before the quarter-hour mark, M. Rodas equalising in the twenty-second. To be fair, the goals came quickly, and neither side had time to settle into a rhythm before the score was level.
The match saw a flurry of changes from both managers. La Equidad made three substitutions on the fifty-seventh minute — F. Leys, M. Gil and J. Obregon all came on together. Deportivo Pasto brought on D. S. Victoria Palacios and F. Bone in the sixtieth, followed by F. Sanguinetti and D. Duarte in the sixty-eighth. M. Garavito picked up a yellow card in the seventy-eighth minute, and S. Cordoba followed in the eighty-seventh. E. C. Serje Orozco was booked just before the final whistle.
La Equidad dominated possession at 51 per cent and won ten corners to two, but neither side could find a winner. Both teams registered three shots on target, though La Equidad's accuracy sat at 25 per cent while Deportivo Pasto managed 38 per cent. The hosts attempted 396 passes against 319 successful ones, while the visitors completed 319 from 392. By then it was clear the match would end in a draw.
La Equidity remain eighth on 28 points from 19 games, while Deportivo Pasto stay third with 34 points. The visitors have won ten matches this season compared to seven for the hosts, and this result does little to change that hierarchy. The gap between them remains six points.
