Jean Pierre Archimbaud

Jean Pierre Archimbaud spent his early years learning the game close to home, coming through Academia Cantolao and Sporting Cristal before joining Alianza Lima's academy in 2011, the year he won the club's reserve league title. He stayed registered with the senior squad from 2012 to 2016 but never made a league appearance for the first team in that spell, instead going out on loan three times running — to UTC Cajamarca, Deportivo Coopsol and Ayacucho FC — while he waited for a chance that never came at Alianza.

That chance arrived elsewhere. A permanent move to Juan Aurich in 2017 gave him a settled run of football, and he scored eight goals in 40 league appearances there. Moves to Real Garcilaso, Deportivo Municipal and then FBC Melgar followed, each one adding to his reputation. It was at Melgar that his career reached its peak: he won the Torneo Apertura with the club in 2022, and in 2024 he posted a career-best 12 league goals in a single season.

His form was enough to earn a first call-up to the Peru national team, and he made his debut in September 2024 in a World Cup qualifier against Colombia, going on to collect three caps without yet opening his account for the national side.

With his contract at Melgar expiring at the end of 2024, Archimbaud returned to Alianza Lima on a free transfer for the 2025 season, closing the loop on a career that began at the club's academy and took more than a decade to bring him back.
