Luis Guilherme

Luis Guilherme came through the academy at Palmeiras, which he joined in 2017, signing his first professional contract in June 2022 and making his senior debut in April 2023. Playing as a left-footed right winger, he was part of a productive spell at the club, winning the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior in 2022, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 2023 and the Campeonato Paulista in 2024. His progress earned him a place on The Guardian's "Next Generation 2023" list.

West Ham United signed him in June 2024 for a fee of around €30 million once add-ons were included, a deal that carried a 20% sell-on clause for Palmeiras. He wore the number 17 shirt before moving on to Sporting CP in January 2026, in a transfer worth an initial €14 million that could rise to €17 million, with West Ham keeping a 15% sell-on interest of their own.

He won the Montaigu Tournament with the under-17s in 2022, scoring three goals in four matches, and featured at that year's South American U-17 Championship. He was part of the Brazil squad that won the 2023 South American U-20 Championship, and was later called up to the under-23 side, known as the Pré-Olímpica, in November 2023.
