Marcelo Rangel

Marcelo Rangel wears the number 88 shirt at Remo and has been the club's first-choice stopper since arriving as a free agent in January 2024. He reached the final of the Campeonato Paraense that year, then went one better in 2025, lifting the title. He was named the competition's best goalkeeper in both seasons.

Rangel is a native of Marechal Cândido Rondon, in Paraná. He began at Cianorte, split into two spells either side of a short stay at Chapecoense, before moving on to Operário-PR and then Londrina. Spells at Novorizontino and Maringá followed in 2017, all within a matter of months, before he settled at Goiás, where he stayed for seven years.

That stretch at Goiás was the most productive of his career before Remo. He won the Campeonato Goiano twice, in 2017 and 2018, and closed out his time at the club by winning the Copa Verde in 2023. Every one of his moves between clubs, from Cianorte onwards, came as a free agent rather than for a fee.

He has never been called up by the Brazilian national team.
