Shakhter Soligorsk

Sergei Nikiforenko scored 69 league goals for Shakhtyor Soligorsk, more than anyone else who has worn the yellow and black, and set up 78 more besides. That tally belongs to a club that spent most of its life outside the honours pages, a mining town side named after the potash works that gave Soligorsk its reason to exist. Founded in 1961, Shakhtyor absorbed two local sides, Khimik and Gornyak, in 1971, and played on at the Stroitel stadium, a ground holding 4,200.

The breakthrough came in 2005, when the club won its first Belarusian championship. Tamofei Kalachev, later capped for Belarus and a player for Shakhtar Donetsk and Rostov, had already been named the league's best player in 2003 while at Soligorsk, a sign of the ambition building before that title arrived. Domestic cups followed in 2003/04, 2013/14 and 2018/19, and the club added Belarusian championships again in 2020 and 2021. A third title, won in 2022, was later stripped by the Belarusian Football Federation over match-fixing, so it does not sit among the club's honours. The Belarusian Super Cup came twice, in 2021 and 2023.

Strikers carried much of that run: Nikolai Yanush topped the league's scoring charts in 2014 and 2015 across more than 170 appearances, and Dmitri Osipenko led the way in 2012. Maksim Skavysh, named Belarus's best footballer in 2020, joined from 2021 to 2023. Shakhtyor was dissolved in 2025, closing out a history that started with a potash town needing a team to call its own.
