Palac Tarnów saw off Komprachcice 34:18 at home on Saturday afternoon in Poland's First League handball competition. The result moves the hosts up to fourth with six points from three games while the visitors remain seventh on three points after two outings. It is a Sunday morning kind of scoreline — comfortable from start to finish, no drama required.
Komprachcice had looked decent before this one, beating Wybićki Kielce 25:24 and drawing with Ruda Śląska 28:28. This time they found no answer. The visitors were outshot, outmanoeuvred, and generally outclassed across the full sixty minutes. Home support at the Tarnów arena was a sell-out crowd, though the result hardly needed that kind of pressure to be decided.
Palac Tarnów's recent form has been mixed but this performance carried the side through without fuss. They had been up against it against Zagłębie Sosnowiec, losing 29:25 in September, but since then they have swung momentum back. The 40:18 demolition of Zabrze II last weekend showed what they could do against weaker opposition, and this match demanded more. They delivered.
By then the visitors were already behind and never really recovered. Komprachcice have kept three clean sheets on the spin in their previous two games but that habit ended here. The home side worked the channels, came for crosses they never reached — well, not for the away team. The gap opened quickly and stayed open.
The table tells a simple story now. Palac Tarnów sit fourth, level on points with whoever occupies third, and with one game more than the seventh-placed visitors. Komprachcice have a game in hand but need to turn things around. Cup football has its own rules, but this is league play — consistency matters, and this result will make life awkward for them going forward.
