Alex Verón

Álex Zahir Verón came up through Vélez Sarsfield's youth ranks, moving through the Sub-15 and Sub-17 categories and representing the club at the 2024 South American Sub-15 Championship and the 2025 South American Sub-17 Championship before signing his first professional contract, which runs until December 2027. As a graduate of the club's own academy, his promotion to the first team came without a transfer fee attached. He made his senior debut in the 2025/2026 season, appearing in the Torneo Betano/Clausura as a left winger.

Vélez have collected silverware during his time on the fringes of the squad. The club beat Estudiantes de La Plata 2–0 to win the Super Copa International in July 2025, and went on to add the Supercopa Argentina after a 2–0 win over Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero in September 2025, with Jano Gordon on the scoresheet. Verón was named among the squad for that Supercopa final but did not feature in the starting eleven or come off the bench.

Alongside his senior involvement, Verón has continued to turn out for Vélez Sarsfield's reserve team, playing in the Reserve League across the 2025 and 2026 seasons. He has also been capped by Argentina at both Under-16 and Under-17 level, part of the pathway that has run parallel to his development at club level.
