Claudio Baeza

Claudio Baeza came through Colo-Colo's academy and made his professional debut with the club in 2012, staying through 2018 and collecting two league titles, in the 2014 Clausura and the 2015 Apertura, along with the Copa Chile in 2016 and back-to-back Supercopas de Chile in 2017 and 2018. In January 2019 he joined Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, before returning to the Americas that July with Necaxa in Mexico. He later moved on to Toluca, initially on loan with an obligation to buy that was triggered in early 2021, and stayed with the club until January 2025, when he signed for Vélez Sarsfield on a free transfer.

At international level, Baeza has earned 18 caps for Chile without scoring, and was part of the squad for the 2021 Copa América, where he came on as a substitute against Argentina. He had already represented his country at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Since arriving at Vélez, Baeza has settled into a central midfield role. He started in the Supercopa Internacional match played in July 2025, helping the team to a 2-0 win over Estudiantes.
