About the player
Rigamonti's career was defined for years by a pattern that never quite resolved: signed to Belgrano since 2009, he spent most of the following decade out on loan, gathering minutes wherever a club would take him rather than in Córdoba itself. He passed through Sportivo Belgrano, Banfield, Sarmiento de Junín, Quilmes and Vélez Sarsfield, and it was at Vélez, in a Copa Argentina tie against Huracán, that he first made a name for himself by saving three penalties in a shootout. In August 2018, back with Belgrano, he was voted the Superliga Argentina's Player of the Month.
A permanent move finally came in 2021, to Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero, followed at the end of 2022 by a switch to Chile's Palestino, where he made 56 appearances across two seasons and helped the club qualify for the Copa Libertadores in 2023.
He returned to Argentina in January 2025 to join Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza, and it was there, on 11 October 2025, that the penalty-save habit repeated itself on the biggest stage of his career. In the Primera Nacional final against Deportivo Madryn, the match finished 1-1 after extra time, and Rigamonti saved the spot-kicks of Federico Recalde and Nicolás Maná as Gimnasia won the shootout 3-0. The result delivered the Primera Nacional title and sent the club up to the Primera División for the first time.
