About the player
Jherson Mosquera came through the Deportivo Pereira academy after starting out at Sócrates Valencia F.C., and it was there that he made his name, breaking into the first team in 2018 and becoming a regular starter by 2021. His time in Pereira brought the club's biggest recent honours: the Categoría Primera B title in 2019 and the Categoría Primera A Clausura in 2022, both won from the right-back slot he has occupied throughout his career.
In January 2023 he left Colombia for Argentina, joining Newell's Old Boys. The exact fee paid for the defender himself was never made clear.
He had already begun training with the Colombian club in July before the suspension was lifted that August, and he eventually made his debut against Fortaleza CEIF. Once cleared to play, he made 30 league appearances and six cup outings across the season, with his only goal of the loan coming against Patriotas Boyacá in November 2024.
That loan spell ended in mid-2025 and he returned to Newell's Old Boys, only to move on again with a switch to Deportes Tolima.
