Leonel Justiniano Arauz

Leonel Justiniano Arauz came through Bolívar's own academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2011. A loan spell at Nacional Potosí gave him regular football — nine goals in 42 matches — before a move to Jorge Wilstermann in July 2019.

That stint brought a Clausura title in 2019, but Justiniano returned to Bolívar in January 2021 and has stayed there since, renewing his contract in January 2024 for a further two years.

At Bolívar he has collected league titles in 2013, 2017, the 2019 Apertura, the 2022 Apertura and the 2024 Clausura/Unique, as well as the Copa de la Liga in 2023.

His international career began on 23 March 2017 in a 1–0 defeat to Colombia in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. He scored against Venezuela in the group stage of the 2019 Copa América and was named captain for matches against Paraguay and Chile at the 2021 edition of the tournament, having also been part of the squad that travelled to the 2024 Copa América. His run with the national team traces back further still, to a gold medal with Bolivia at the 2009 Juegos Bolivarianos Sub-17.

In January 2024 he underwent eye surgery to correct myopia and astigmatism.
