Lautaro Piola

Lautaro Piola came through Estudiantes de Río Cuarto's youth ranks: 38 goals in 23 matches in the Octava División of the AFA youth league. That tally earned him a call-up to Argentina's under-15 pre-selection in September 2023, when he trained at the federation's "Lionel Messi" complex in Ezeiza, though he was not included in the squad for that year's South American U-15 Championship.

In 2024 he moved to Vélez Sarsfield's academy and kept up the scoring pace. He won the Séptima Division title in his first season there and finished as the division's top scorer with 17 goals in 27 matches. The following January, still progressing through the age groups, he scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Unión at Sexta division level.

Piola's rise continued into Vélez Sarsfield II, the club's reserve side, where he scored in a 4-0 win over Rosario Central in the reserve league. He was handed a debut for the Vélez first team in the Liga Profesional de Fútbol.

Piola himself remains tied to Argentina at youth level and has yet to add a full senior cap for the national team to his development path.
