About the player
Moussa Diakité came through the youth ranks in Mali before crossing to Spain, joining Cádiz's academy in January 2022. After two seasons with the reserves at Cádiz CF Mirandilla, the midfielder made his first-team debut in La Liga on 4 December 2023, against Celta de Vigo.
The following seasons in Segunda División established him as a regular in Cádiz's midfield. He made 22 league appearances in 2024–25, then followed that with 29 in 2025–26, a campaign in which he scored his first goal as a professional against SD Huesca on 25 May. Across all competitions he has now made between 59 and 62 appearances for the club, with four goals to his name. Cádiz rewarded that progress in August 2024 with a contract extension running to June 2029.
In August 2026 he moved on loan to Çaykur Rizespor in the Turkish Süper Lig for the 2026–27 season, making his debut as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Eyüpspor in September.
On the international stage, Diakité represented Mali at Under-23 level at the 2024 Summer Olympics, collecting three caps, before earning his first senior call-up in 2026.
