Santiago Alejandro Rodríguez

Santiago Alejandro Rodríguez came through the youth ranks at Estudiantes de San Luis, in the province where he was born, and made his first-team debut there in May 2015. He stayed at the club until 2020, with a loan spell along the way at Jorge Newbery de Villa Mercedes, before moving on a free transfer to Almagro.

After two seasons at Almagro, Rodríguez signed for Instituto de Córdoba in January 2022. He was part of the squad when the club won the Primera B Nacional title in 2023, earning promotion to the Argentine Primera División, though his own playing time during that campaign was limited. He left Instituto in August 2024 for Argentinos Juniors, again on a free transfer.

His time at Argentinos Juniors has been interrupted by loan spells further down the football pyramid. In July 2025 he went to Sarmiento de Junín, where he made ten appearances, and in January 2026 he moved on loan to Gimnasia y Esgrima de Mendoza, the club he currently represents. A left-footed forward.

His career so far has followed a steady path through Argentina's lower and middle divisions rather than a single defining move, built on free transfers and loans between clubs in San Luis, Córdoba, Buenos Aires and Mendoza provinces.
