About the player
Tomás O'Connor came through the youth ranks at ADIUR before moving to the Rosario Central academy in 2018, and it was there that he made his senior breakthrough. He was thrown on as a substitute against Platense in May 2023, in a match Central won 4–0, and scored on his professional debut. That season he was part of the Rosario Central squad that won the Copa de la Liga Profesional. His form was rewarded the following year, when the club extended his contract to December 2026 and attached a release clause of 20 million dollars.
O'Connor stayed involved through the following campaign, and one goal in particular stood out: the winner against Gimnasia de La Plata. He remained a fixture in the Rosario Central squad without yet forcing a call-up to the Argentina national team.
In January 2026 he moved to Gimnasia M. on loan until December 2026, a switch that takes him away from Rosario for the first extended spell of his career. Sources differ on his stronger foot — some list him as left-footed, while match data from FotMob has shown him shooting more often with his right — but he is generally described in profile terms as a left-footer.
