AIK

Five Swedish championships in a row, from 1995 to 1999, went to a side that carried a different name on the shirt: Älvsjö AIK, then a separate team inside the AIK structure. The cups came first — 1992 against Gideonsbergs IF, then 1996 over Bälinge IF, both won 2:1 — and the third in 1998–99 needed extra time to see off Djurgårdens IF by the same score. Between the wins there were three lost finals, including one to Hammarby IF in 1995 settled by a single goal.

That line ended in 2003, when the team merged with Djurgården. The AIK name came back to women's football in 2007, and the record since has been thinner: a Swedish Cup final that same year, lost 3:4 to Umeå IK, and fourth place in the Damallsvenskan in 2008.

The 2008 season is remembered mostly for Lisa De Vanna, the Australian forward who scored 15 goals in her single year in Stockholm. Longer service came from Jennie Nordin, who spent from 2010 to 2022 with the club and captained it.

The women's section dates to 10 May 1970, when the team played its first organised match against Ronna of Södertälje and won 3:0. Within a year there were senior, reserve and youth sides. The parent club, Allmänna Idrottsklubben, was founded in Stockholm on 15 February 1891; the men's football department followed in 1896.

Home is Skytteholms IP in Solna, on Huvudstagatan, with room for 5,200. The black and yellow and the Gnaget nickname are shared with the rest of AIK, as are the derbies — Hammarby IF and Djurgårdens IF, the latter the twin derby.
