«The White Tigresses»
The Sportna Zala "Arena Byala" seats just 420, and it is where HC Byala have turned a startup club into the team nobody in Bulgarian women's handball wants to draw. The club was only registered in October 2020, its women's side taking shape a year later, yet by its second full season it was already collecting the Bulgarian Championship — a title it has now held for four straight years, through 2025.
The cup record reads less cleanly: a win in 2022 stands undisputed, but the club's push for a second was stopped by HC Etar-64 in a final that went the other way. The club has entered the EHF European Cup since the 2022/2023 season and reached the third round in 2025/2026.
Much of that rise has run through a group of Ukrainian imports, and Viktoriya Zhosan is the name attached to it from the bench.
