Frida Høgaard Nielsen and the rest of the current squad play under a badge that only exists because the club before them went under. Aalborg DH, the city's women's side, folded in 2013 after going bankrupt, and the players and assets of the old club merged into Aalborg Håndbold, the men's team founded in 2011. The women's side plays as EH Aalborg to keep the two teams apart, but it carries the same red-and-black crest as the men.

The championship pedigree belongs to the club that no longer exists. Aalborg DH reached the Danish final twice, in 2005 and in 2009, and lost both times. Nothing since has matched even that near miss — EH Aalborg has yet to add a Kvindeligaen title or a Danish Cup to the record it inherited.

Matches at Gigantium put the team in front of a crowd Odense Håndbold and Team Esbjerg know well.
