The 2024-2025 season put Házená Mělník alongside Česká Lípa at the bottom of the table, the two clubs sharing the fewest points in the men's second tier — the kind of company that tells you where a side actually stands. This season has opened little better: eight matches into the 2025-2026 campaign, the team sits eighth with two points, though the Czech Cup has offered something to hold onto, a second-round win over Chodov following a run the year before that carried them past Kutná Hora, 21-35, before HBC Medipoint Jičín ended it in the last sixteen, 17-45.

None of it has produced a trophy. No league title, no cup, nothing since the club came into being — a modest record, but one that fits a side still finding its level rather than one in decline.

Home games are played in a 280-seat hall attached to Gymnázium Jana Palacha, a building whose extension picked up regional "Building of the Year" honours in 2015 and again in 2017, before handball had much reason to notice it. When the venue is too small or otherwise occupied, the club shifts to Hala ISŠT or out to the sports ground at Horní Počaply, arrangements that speak to a club still operating on borrowed and shared space rather than a home entirely its own.

The senior team is not the whole of it. Youth sides play on in the older girls' league and in the regional minihandball competition, the kind of structure that outlasts a bad league table.

Házená Mělník was registered in February 2015, taking up what the handball section at TJ EMĚ Mělník had been doing before it, rather than starting from nothing.
