Eight Polish championships came for Śląsk Wrocław's women between 1967/68 and 1991/92, spread across two decades that made the club the dominant handball side in Wrocław long before its football section existed. The last of those titles arrived in 1991/92, and the Polish Cup followed four times too, though only in an earlier stretch, from 1967 to 1972 — the two runs never quite overlapped.

The handball section carries the club's founding date rather than any later addition: 1955, under Kazimierz Frąszczak, years before anyone in Wrocław wore the Śląsk name on a football shirt. For long stretches the women's team was known instead as AZS Wrocław, and it is that side, not the badge on the crest today, that won every one of those titles.

They play at Hala Orbita, in green and white.

What holds the club together, across the gap between an AZS shirt from the 1970s and a Śląsk one now, is the section founded in 1955 — handball first, everything else built around it since.
