Hungarian handball records show Vecsés SE taking the field against Tököl KSK in the autumn of the 2012/13 season. There is no rival named in what followed, no local grudge match that recurs year after year.

Home games are played not in Vecsés itself but a few kilometres away, at the Üllői Városi Sportcsarnok in Üllő, a hall built in 2006 with room for 300 spectators. Plans for a smaller hall in Vecsés, seating 150, have been reported, which would bring the team back to its own town.

Vecsés SE reached the top flight, the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, for the 2018/19 season, and has stayed there since. A 14th-place finish in the regular season stands as the club's best return in that division, and no cup or European run has come with it.

Match reports refer to the players simply as vecsésiek, the Vecsés people, which says as much about the club's profile as any nickname could: a team known by its town rather than by any title it has won.
