Koji Miyoshi opened the scoring in the third minute and doubled his tally before the half-hour mark, his second strike arriving in the 25th minute. Dresden pulled one back through Ben Bobzien in the 41st minute, but the hosts could not find an equaliser despite enjoying more shots overall.
By then, the match had grown tense. Miyoshi picked up a yellow card in the 20th minute, and the visitors added further bookings throughout the second half. Dresden were far from clean either, collecting eight yellow cards between them.
The statistics tell a story of dominance without control. Dresden registered 15 shots to Bochum's 10, and their expected goals figure of 1.82 exceeded the visitors' 1.4. Yet accuracy favoured the away side at 40 per cent against 27 per cent, and Bochum created their chances with greater efficiency.
This result extends a mixed run for both sides. Dresden have won only one of four league games and sit on three points, while Bochum's two victories have brought them to six. The gap between them remains narrow, but the table suggests Bochum are building momentum where Dresden are still searching for consistency.
