Hacken claimed a comfortable 4-1 win over Piteo in the Dammalsvenskan on Sunday, extending their grip on the top of the table. The visitors took control early when T. Tindell opened the scoring in the eighth minute. Piteo fought back briefly, but Hacken's superiority showed through by the interval.
Things went sideways for the hosts in the twenty-fifth minute when T. Tindell turned on their own side, netting an own goal. That gave Hacken a two-goal cushion, and M. Laney doubled the advantage just before half-time. To be fair, Piteo had chances to stay in the game, but they switched off at the back when it mattered.
Hacken kept pushing after the break. A. Luik added a third in the fifty-fourth minute, putting the result beyond doubt. Piteo pulled one back late on through E. Migas in the ninetieth minute, but it was too little too late. The hosts gave up the ball and hit them on the break far too often.
The statistics tell the story. Hacken registered 144 attacks compared to Piteo's 104, and held 57 per cent possession. They fired twelve shots on target against six, while the hosts managed only one off target. And here's the thing — the disparity in chances was stark.
Both sides received one yellow card each, with M. Laney and E. Moberg booked. Hacken made five substitutions, bringing on T. Tindell, M. Laney, J. Johansson, M. Jusu Bah and M. Ekblom at various stages. Piteo's lone change came through M. Ekblom in the sixtieth minute.
By then, the result was never in question. Hacken remain first with 46 points from 17 games, while Piteo sit eighth with 22. The gap between them is now 24 points, and the line has barely moved since the start of the season.
