Plzeň U20 5:2 Mountfield HK U20: ELJ Match Result

Match report

Plzen U20 secured a 5:2 victory over Mountfield HK U20 in the ELJ competition on Friday evening. The result leaves both sides rooted in the lower reaches of the table, though the gap between them remains narrow. To be fair, neither outfit has built much momentum this season so far.

The home side had been struggling recently, having lost three of their previous four matches. A 3:8 defeat to Slavia Prague U20 on Tuesday was the latest in that run. Mountfield HK U20 arrived with similar concerns, having dropped points in their last two outings.

Plzen U20 got on top early and never looked back. The visitors found themselves chasing the game for much of the afternoon. By then the hosts had camped in the final third and made their superiority count.

Both teams sit in the bottom half after seven and nine games respectively. Plzen U20 have three wins from seven fixtures, while Mountfield HK U20 share the same tally but have played two extra matches. The standings show neither side has anything to write home about just yet.

The win extends Plzen U20's recent form slightly, though they remain four games off the top. Mountfield HK U20's losses mount up, and they now trail by two matches. The result does not shift the hierarchy, but it gives the hosts something to build on.
