Amir Miftakhov: KHL Now an Unpredictable League
Shanghai Dragons goalkeeper Amir Miftakhov says the KHL has become a level league with no easy fixtures ahead of the new season opener.
Miftakhov stated that the KHL has become highly competitive, noting that recent conversations with players returning to the league confirm that every match is difficult and that the notion of routine fixtures no longer exists.
Shanghai open the new season on the road against Neftekhimik on 6 September. The club, which is based in St Petersburg, changed its management over the close season and brought in new signings, with Miftakhov among the new arrivals after leaving Ak Bars.
"We're aiming for the playoffs. We have a good group here, you can feel the quality we have in training, and we have to deliver on the targets the club has set us. We will try to do everything we can to win," Miftakhov said.
