The 32-year-old goaltender played the full contest, stopping 20 of 24 shots. The fifth goal for the Panthers arrived into an empty net.
Florida brought in ex-SKA system goaltender Kirill Gerasimyuk for the third period. The 23-year-old stopped 11 of 12 shots and recorded a victory.
Gerasimyuk spent the previous season in the American Hockey League with Charlotte, where he made 19 appearances and posted a 90.1 per cent save percentage.
He also played seven games in the ECHL for Savannah.
