Quinn Hughes and Minnesota are set to sit down for talks on a contract extension, according to insider Elliotte Friedman, who reports the two sides will meet in the near future to discuss terms.
Hughes, a defenceman, joined Minnesota from Vancouver during last season. He has one year left on his current deal, carrying a cap hit of $7.85 million.
The 26-year-old has been eligible to sign a new contract since 1 July.
