Brady Tkachuk: Panthers Have Moved Past Two Stanley Cups
The forward says the locker room's focus has shifted from Florida's back-to-back titles to bouncing back after missing the 2025/26 play-offs.
Brady Tkachuk says nobody inside the Florida locker room brings up the club's two Stanley Cups any more. The Forward, who arrived from Ottawa in a trade he asked for over the summer, described a group still working through the aftermath of last season.
Florida won the Cup in 2024 and again in 2025 but missed the play-offs entirely in 2025/26, the first time a defending champion had failed to qualify in 11 years.
"There's energy and enthusiasm around this team. Last season didn't go the way they wanted and expected it to. Nobody brings up the two Stanley Cups. Everyone talks about last season and the desire to get back to where they want to be. That drive to get back there is obvious. I know everyone is already looking Forward to the start of the season," Tkachuk said.
The comments frame the coming campaign as a response to the missed play-offs rather than a defence of the two titles that preceded it.
