Nikita Boyarkin has joined Admiral from Barys, and the goalkeeper says the move came without warning.
Admiral made the first approach themselves. Sporting director Aleksandr Ardashev rang Boyarkin to ask about his plans before offering him a contract, and no agent was involved in the talks, the goalkeeper said.
Boyarkin now joins a goaltending group at Admiral that includes Ivan Kulbakov and Dzhelal-ad-Din Amirbekov. He said the competition for the starting spot suits him.
