Referee Alexei Gavrilenok Detained Over Minsk Murder
The son of ex-Belarus goalkeeper Alexander Gavrilenok is accused of killing pregnant Minsk woman Tatiana Martishchenko after a dispute, then burying her body in a forest.
Belarusian hockey referee Alexei Gavrilenok has been detained on suspicion of murdering a pregnant woman from Minsk, the Belarusian outlet Tribuna reports. The 38-year-old is the son of Alexander Gavrilenok, a former Belarus national team goalkeeper.
The victim, 43-year-old Tatiana Martishchenko, was reported missing on 8 September. Her death became known on 11 September.

Alexei Gavrilenok played for Belarus's youth national teams and appeared at the 2006/07 World Junior Championship. He spent 2008 to 2015 at Brest, where he ended his playing career before moving into officiating. His father, goalkeeper Alexander Gavrilenok, made 17 appearances for the Belarus national team between 1992 and 1999.
