Ilya Khokhlov Joins Yugra
The 31-year-old defenseman leaves the KHL for Yugra, returning to the VHL for the first time since his 2016/17 stint with Izhstal.
Ilya Khokhlov has moved to Yugra, taking his career into the VHL for the first time since the 2016/17 season, when he turned out for Izhstal.
He made his debut back in 2014/15 and went on to play 496 matches, playoffs included, for nine different clubs: Sochi, Torpedo, Barys, Sibir, Neftekhimik, Dinamo Minsk, Metallurg, Avangard and Severstal. Over that span he collected 127 points, 37 goals and 90 assists, with a minus-42 rating.
Neftekhimik, one of the nine sides on that list, sit ninth in the First League this season with 12 points from 10 games. Islam Mashukov leads their scoring with seven goals, ahead of Rashid Magomedov on two and E. Mukba on one.
Barys, another former club, head the KHL table after two rounds, though without a point on the board yet under the league's scoring system at this early stage.
