Torpedo drew 12,350 fans to their first match at the Volga Arena on 14 September, a new club attendance record in the KHL.

The venue's opening fixture pitted Torpedo against Ak Bars. Torpedo led 3:1 heading into the second intermission.

Torpedo have also reshaped their roster in recent days. Forward Yegor Sokolov left for Ak Bars in a three-way trade also involving Dinamo Minsk, with Nizhny Novgorod picking up the KHL rights to defenceman Kolyachonok in return.
