Sochi Beat Ak Bars Kazan for First KHL Win
Goals from Korostelev, Cameron Lee and Vengryzhanovsky gave Sochi a 3:2 home win over Ak Bars, their first victory of the KHL season.
Sochi picked up their first win of the KHL season on 18 September, beating Ak Bars Kazan 3:2 at home in the regular-season fixture.
Maxim Korostelev opened the scoring on 14 minutes. Nikita Dynyak levelled for Ak Bars a minute later, on 15. Cameron Lee put the hosts back in front on 25 minutes, and Artem Galimov equalised again for the visitors on 40. Denis Vengryzhanovsky settled it for Sochi on 51 minutes.
The result gives Sochi 2 points from five matches, and they remain bottom of the Western Conference, in 11th place. Ak Bars sit third in the Eastern Conference on 9 points from seven games.
