Rotenberg on His Send-Off Words to Ovechkin
Roman Rotenberg revealed what he wished Alexander Ovechkin before the Capitals star departed for the US ahead of the new NHL season.
Roman Rotenberg, first vice-president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, has said what he told Alexander Ovechkin before the forward's departure for the United States, according to TASS.
Rotenberg said he had spoken with Ovechkin a great deal before the trip, having played hockey with him himself, and wished the Washington Capitals forward health and good luck.
Ovechkin signed a new one-year contract with Washington on 2 July, worth $4.25 million. The NHL season opens on the night of 30 September.
