Pavel Dorofeev to stay in Connecticut after Rangers move
The 25-year-old forward considered buying property in New York City with his wife Valeria but chose to stay in Connecticut after joining the Rangers from Vegas.
Pavel Dorofeev will keep living in Connecticut after his move from Vegas to the Rangers, having considered a switch to New York City.
The 25-year-old forward looked at buying property in the city with his wife, Valeria. He decided against it. "I thought about it. But I know this area, I know what goes on here. There are great places, there is plenty to do. It is simply a great place to live," Dorofeev said.
He has rented a flat in Connecticut for each of the last four summers and trained at the Prentiss Hockey centre. This summer he skated there with his future Rangers team-mates, which, as reported, helped him settle into the new club faster.
"I felt at home here and was able to get used to the new surroundings," the Russian added.
If the arrangement holds, Dorofeev will start his first season with the Rangers already familiar with the group and with a routine he has followed for four years.
