CSKA Moscow beat Admiral on penalties as Kostin scores twice

CSKA Moscow beat Admiral 4-3 on penalties in Vladivostok, with Marat Khairullin scoring the only successful shootout attempt of the evening. Regulation time and overtime both finished 3-3.
Klim Kostin scored twice for CSKA, on 35 minutes and 57 minutes, and Denis Guryanov added the other on 13 minutes. Admiral's goals came from Dmitry Mukhtarov (27th minute), Yegor Chezganov (30th) and Anthony Camara (59th).
Camara's goal levelled the score a minute from the end. Admiral had pulled their goalkeeper for a sixth attacker.
Midway through the second period Kostin and Admiral defenceman Konstantin Luchevnikov fought in front of the home goal. Each was given 5 minutes.
It is CSKA's third win in a row. They have 8 points from 7 games and sit fourth in the Western Conference. Admiral, on 6 points from 7, are seventh in the East.
Both sides play again on 23 September: CSKA are away to Amur in Khabarovsk, and Admiral host Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
