Lada coach Zubov blames overplayed shifts after 3:7 loss
Lada coach Pavel Zubov says his players overplayed shifts after 10 good minutes and gave up easy goals in the 3:7 KHL loss to Neftekhimik, a 7th defeat in 8 games.
It is Lada's 7th defeat in 8 games since the start of the season.
"We played to the plan for the first 10 minutes of the first period: sharp, short shifts," Zubov said. "Then they started doing things that were not theirs to do. Some of the lads began to overplay their shifts, began to 'do a Kharlamov', the ones who should not be doing it. Everyone has to understand their strengths, how he can play and help the team. We conceded very easy goals. That happens in a game. We cannot play decently. We keep giving up goals in bunches, five at a time."
Asked whether he regretted replacing Trushkov earlier, Zubov answered with a question of his own. "What has that got to do with this? Is it a question about the game? He is in Khabarovsk altogether."
