Lyuzenkov explains Sibir injuries after shootout loss to Ak Bars
Sibir coach Yaroslav Lyuzenkov says Sushko has a recurring ankle problem, Kuznetsov is still recovering from a knee blow and Beck is back at full capacity.
Sibir were without Maxim Sushko, Taylor Beck and Kuznetsov in their 2:3 shootout loss to Ak Bars in the Fonbet KHL Championship. Head coach Yaroslav Lyuzenkov broke down their fitness status.
Sushko has aggravated a pre-existing ankle injury. Kuznetsov took a blow to the knee in Minsk and played in Sochi while injured. Beck, the coach said, is already back to full training.
Sibir took one point from the game. Lyuzenkov said his side had created "a lot of chances", overtime included, but lacked finishing.
In the previous games Sibir had looked slow. He praised the movement, saying a win would have capped it.
On Kosolapov’s Sochi goal, Lyuzenkov hedged.
