Jared Bednar signs contract extension with Avalanche
Colorado have tied their head coach to the club through June 2031, rewarding the man who led the Avalanche to the 2022 Stanley Cup title.
Colorado have extended Jared Bednar's contract by four years, tying the head coach to the club through 30 June 2031.
Bednar, 54, has been in charge of the Avalanche since 2016. He won the Stanley Cup with the side in 2022.
Since his appointment, Colorado have missed the play-offs only once, in 2017. They went out in the first round three times and in the second round on four occasions, and lost in the conference final in 2026.
