Mike Sullivan coaches 1,000th NHL regular-season game
The Rangers coach became the 33rd man in league history to reach 1,000 games, marked by a shutout loss to the Bruins.

Sullivan's coaching career has run through Boston, where he had his first NHL head coaching post from 2003 to 2006, and through Pittsburgh from 2015 to 2025, where he won the Stanley Cup twice, in 2016 and 2017. He also coached the United States to Olympic gold this past February.
He took over the Rangers this year. Tuesday's shutout loss to the Bruins gave the milestone night little to celebrate on the ice.
