Dmitri Guberniev, the Match TV commentator, says he will follow whichever Russian goes furthest in the NHL playoffs rather than pick a single favourite for the Stanley Cup at the start of the new campaign.
"I'm for Sasha Nikishin finding a club that suits him, one that's competitive. But generally, whichever Russian goes furthest, that's who I'm rooting for. Malkin, Bobrovsky, Kaprizov and Ovechkin stand apart, of course, as does Panarin, who I know well. I wish the lads every success. Our hockey school is excellent, the NHL cannot do without Russians. So whoever wins, wins," said Guberniev.
