Columbus has signed Carson Soucy to a one-year, $1.15m deal after the 32-year-old defenceman spent training camp with the club on a tryout contract.

Soucy, 32, had been with the Blue Jackets on a professional tryout since training camp.
Last season he split time between the Islanders and the Rangers, playing 76 games and putting up 12 points (5+7) with a minus-6 rating. Across his NHL career, having also played for Minnesota, Seattle and Vancouver, Soucy has 441 regular-season appearances, 99 points (32+67), a plus-54 rating and 282 penalty minutes.
