Ryan Spooner has retired at 34, ending a KHL career that took in spells at Dinamo Minsk, Avtomobilist, Avangard and Shanghai.
This season he had been with Dukla Trencin in the Slovak league, managing 4 points (1+3) in 5 matches.
"I sincerely believed I would play one more season. The decision was not easy, but I feel it is the right one," said Spooner.
In the KHL regular season he played 346 games and scored 286 points (82+204). In the play-offs he added 32 games and 14 points (4+10).
