Christian Früchtl

Christian Früchtl came up through FC Bayern Munich's academy, joining in 2014 after starting out at SV Bischofsmais and SpVgg Grün-Weiß Deggendorf, and he was part of the group that won the B-Junioren Bundesliga in 2016–17. He spent five years with Bayern Munich II, where he took the 3. Liga title in 2019–20 and the Regionalliga Bayern crown in 2018–19, and across those years he was also included in a first-team squad that collected five Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals, three DFL-Supercups and the Champions League in 2019–20. He made only a single senior appearance for Bayern's first team, and a loan spell at 1. FC Nürnberg in 2020–21 passed without him getting on the pitch.

His path opened up once he left Bavaria. Moving to FK Austria Wien in 2022, Früchtl became a regular for the first time, making 66 appearances over two seasons and earning a place in a Team of the Season after his debut campaign there. That run of games convinced Lecce to sign him for Serie A in 2024.

At international level, Früchtl worked his way through Germany's youth sides, from the U15s up to the U20s, and was later called into the U21 squad, though he has not yet played a competitive match at that level or been capped by the senior national team.
