Denis Simani

Denis Simani was born in St. Gallen and came through the youth ranks at FC Gossau before starting his senior career there in 2009. He moved on through Grasshopper Club Zürich's second team, with a loan spell at SC Brühl, then joined FC Basel II. From Basel, the centre-back transferred to FC Rapperswil-Jona for the 2013/14 season, where he stayed for six years.

Simani joined FC Vaduz on a free transfer in July 2019 and quickly established himself at the back, wearing the number 6 shirt. His first spell at the club brought silverware: the Swiss Challenge League title in 2019–20 and the Liechtenstein Cup in 2020–21. In January 2022 he left for FC Luzern, again on a free transfer, and remained there until June 2024, when he returned to FC Vaduz on the same terms.

Although Swiss by nationality, Simani is of Albanian descent and received a call-up to the Albania under-21 side in 2011, staying an unused substitute throughout. He stands 187 cm tall and is regarded as comfortable on either foot.
