About the player
Damian's route to Swiss football's top flight ran entirely through the lower divisions. He started out at FC Tavannes/Tramelan, making his senior debut there in August 2020, before a free move to FC Solothurn in July 2021, where he was promoted from the youth ranks into the first team. Two more seasons followed at FC Biel-Bienne, where he became a regular fixture in the Promotion League, making 63 appearances and scoring three goals over two campaigns.
That body of work in the third tier earned him a free transfer to FC Lugano on 1 July 2025, where he signed a contract running until 30 June 2028. At 194 cm and 97 kg, he wears the number 4 shirt for Lugano. He has already featured for the club in the 2026/2027 season.
Damian holds dual Swiss and Nigerian nationality. His career so far has been built on steady progression rather than headline moves — each transfer between his Swiss clubs came on a free, and each step up brought more minutes and more responsibility.
