Edwin Torres

Edwin Torres arrived at Operário-PR in January 2026 as a free agent, a move that took shape after a switch to Independiente Santa Fe fell through late in 2025. The forward, born in El Bagre, Colombia, had spent most of his career at Alianza Petrolera, where he made his debut in September 2016 and returned to the club across three separate spells through 2024, interrupted by loan stints at Real Santander in Colombia and, briefly, in Argentina with Arsenal de Sarandí and Club Atlético Güemes. A loan at Atlético Nacional and a season at Alianza FC followed before his move to Brazil.

His time at Operário-PR has been short and eventful. In the Copa do Brasil match against Londrina in March 2026, Torres came on as a substitute for the injured Bertão and, within the same game, conceded a penalty after handling the ball inside the area — a penalty Londrina's goalkeeper failed to convert. Two months later, in a Copa do Brasil tie against Fluminense, he was sent off for breaking up a counter-attack, a moment that cost his side a man for the remainder of the match.

By July 2026 the club had already loaned him out again, this time to Once Caldas in Colombia, with the deal running to the end of June 2027 and including an option to buy. Edwin Torres has yet to record a call-up to the Colombian national team, and his career to date has moved between short spells and loans rather than settling at a single club for long.
