About the player
He was promoted to the senior squad in April 2024 and made his Allsvenskan debut that same month, against Djurgårdens IF.
The step up came alongside recognition at youth level: in 2023, Svensk Elitfotboll named him Årets Unicoachmålvakt, the Unicoach Goalkeeper of the Year, for his performances in the P19 Allsvenskan and with Sweden's junior national teams. He has represented Sweden at U17, U19 and U21 level, and was part of the squad for the 2022 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
To get senior minutes, he spent part of 2024 on loan at Västra Frölunda IF, making three appearances. Back at IFK Göteborg, he holds the club record for clean sheets at Tele2 Arena. A left-footed goalkeeper of Romanian and Iranian descent through his parents, he has represented Sweden at every youth level open to him, though a senior title with club or country still lies ahead.
