About the player
Geovany Quenda was born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, and holds Portuguese nationality, representing Portugal at international level. He began his youth career at CF Damaiense before a move to Benfica's academy, then switched to Sporting CP's youth ranks in 2019, working his way up through the club's system.
His first-team debut for Sporting CP came in August 2024, and across the following season he also turned out for Sporting CP B, scoring twice in nine appearances. The deal was structured to keep Quenda at Sporting on loan for the 2025–2026 season before he officially joins Chelsea in the summer of 2026, and it was tied to a wider double deal alongside Dário Essugo, with the combined fees reported at around €74.4 million.
A left-footed right winger, Quenda built his reputation at Sporting playing on the flank.
