About the player
Isak Vidjeskog moved country before he moved level. A product of Terjärv Ungdoms Sportklubb and then FF Jaro in his native Finland, he made his senior bow with Jakobstads BK in the Kakkonen, scoring once in five appearances before Kalmar FF took him across to Sweden in 2021. A single league appearance for Kalmar in 2021 was followed by a season, 2022, in which he did not feature in the league at all.
The breakthrough came instead at Skövde AIK, first on loan from May 2023, then on a permanent Bosman move that July. Between the two spells he scored six goals in 24 Superettan appearances that year, form that persuaded Varbergs BoIS to sign him, again on a free transfer, in January 2024.
At international level, Vidjeskog has represented Finland through the age grades. Across his senior career in Sweden's top two divisions he has now scored 15 league goals, all of his transfers between Swedish clubs — Kalmar to Skövde, and Skövde to Varbergs — completed without a fee changing hands.
